ABOUT FIKA COFFEE ROASTING

Our Mission
Fika coffee is roasted to order and reaches our customers within one week of roasting. Each roast is painstakingly calculated and features beans selected based on quality, responsible sourcing, and availability. Coffee is a crop, and like any other agricultural product, it is subject to weather and climate.

We practice thoughtful sourcing, and do our best to honor the work of the farmers that cultivate coffee beans. Quality coffee holds true to the natural qualities and variations of the coffee bean. While we will develop flavor profiles for roasts and blends with intention, we will strive to enhance the natural qualities of each bean, ensuring unique, satisfying batches of coffee that will deliver deeply flavorful and delicious cups of coffee.
Our Story
The craftsman behind Fika Coffee are Molly and Elliott Ralph. We have been starting our day together with a hot cup of coffee since we first met while working on an organic farm seven years ago. Since then, we have carried that tradition with us through numerous adventures, in an array of settings. We shared coffee in our off-grid cottage on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, from our hammock on the Appalachian trail, by the woodstove in our Airstream, on our homestead in Maine, and in the mountains of Pennsylvania. we have now come full circle, and have settled on the Eastern Shore, where we start each and every morning together, with a cup (or 3) of coffee. We enjoy brewing our coffee in a variety of ways, now with fresh, artisan roasted beans that allow us to fully appreciate the grand and intricate processes that enable us to provide ourselves, and you with the fresh flavorful beans in your cup.

Although it began with great value coffee brewed in a $19.99 Mr. Coffee machine, we’ve come a long way and have evolved our coffee drinking into more than a habit, but a true experience, unique everyday with our home-roasted coffee. This is what brought us to the name Fika. Fika is a Swedish word and tradition that describes the act of taking a moment to slow down and enjoy the good things in life. Direct translation; “coffee with friends.” We practice this on a daily basis, and on good days, more than once. With Fika coffee, it is almost unavoidable to slow down as you sip our fresh roasted coffee from your mug. The aroma guides your mind to the present moment, and the flavors of each roast command your attention. Whether you’re with friends or alone, take a Fika and relish in the experience of a decadent cup of coffee.
